Troy A. Scott is honored to direct incredibly talented artists including Meagan Good, Stephanie D Mills, Kim Fields, Ledisi, Thomas "Nephew Tommy" Miles, Michelle Williams, Tina Knowles-Lawson, Ariana Madix, Roger Cross, Romeo Miller, Monique Coleman, LisaRaye McCoy, Eric Benet, Adrian Holmes, Keeya King, Faith Wright. Troy collaborates on projects with exceptional executive producers and creatives, such as Derrick Williams, Bishop T.D. Jakes, Shaun Robinson, Orly Adelson, Terry Washington, Ray Chew, and Victoria Christopher Murray.
Troy was most recently nominated for a Directors Guild of Canada outstanding directorial achievement award for MTV's Adventures in Christmasing, and is currently wrapping Buying Back My Daughter, inspired by actual events of mothers trying to rescue their daughters from being trafficked and part of Lifetime's Stop Violence Against Women campaign.
Troy was born in Jamaica and grew up in Toronto, watching movies of all genres in Toronto's iconic theaters, like the Uptown, University, and Coronet. As a Director, Troy is simultaneously a technician and authentic storyteller, who values diversity and the art of collaboration. He has established a strong body of work in thriller, drama, and romance genres, for Paramount+, Lifetime, Hallmark, and MTV Entertainment Studios. "I am not a genre snob", says Troy, "There are many great archetypal stories in all genres." After completing his Film degree at University of Waterloo, Troy attended Vancouver Film School and then joined the Directors Guild, working as an AD for over a decade and then breaking through as a Director.
His latest movie to premiere (April 2023) was Pride: A Seven Deadly Sins Story, his third installment in the hugely popular series, Lifetime's Original Seven Deadly Sins Saga, executive produced by Bishop T.D. Jakes and Derrick Williams and starring Grammy-Award winner Stephanie D Mills and co-stars Thomas "Nephew Tommy" Miles and Keeya King. The prior Seven Deadly Sins Lifetime Original Movies - Lust, Envy, Wrath (directed by Troy), and Greed (directed by Troy) - attracted close to 7 million total viewers in 2022.
